The recently opened circuit is situated in North Eastern Thailand, 400-km from the capital city of Bangkok and was designed to offer a total of six circuit configurations. The shorter layouts give the opportunity for a wide variety of racing disciplines to be held at the circuit. The longer configuration allows for two very long straights, with the whole circuit viewable from the 50,000 seat main grandstand.

Originally designed in 1962 as a Honda test track, Suzuka Circuit is one of only a few tracks to utilize a ‘figure 8’ layout, thanks to the use of an overpass under the 1.2km back straight. Opened in 2004 to host the country’s first ever Formula One race, the vast complex is located in the Jiading district, north-west of the city. The 5.451km circuit’s design draws inspiration from the Chinese character ‘shang’ and features 16 turns with a seating capacity of 200,000. It was designed by famous circuit architect, Hermann Tilke and features a twisty layout finishing with a very long back straight of almost 1.2km before a tight hairpin bend funnels the cars into the final two corners.
