Disney-Pixar’s ‘Cars’ franchise partnered with Craft-Bamboo Racing in 2017 FRD LMP3 Series. The team’s two Ligier JS P3s were specially decorated in ‘Cars’ liveries, with the #95 prototype representing lead character Lightning McQueen, while #20 mimicking the brands newest protagonist, Jackson Storm. The partnership was to promote the ‘Cars 3’ movie, which debuted in Chinese cinemas on August 25th, 2017.

An extensive marketing activation campaign was held in the second round of the season at the Shanghai International Circuit. Onsite fan booth displayed a full size 1:1 replica of Lighting McQueen, giving all race fans the opportunity to connect with the beloved series’ main character.

The successful partnership dominated the 2017 FRD LMP3 Series season, achieved 4 wins out of 8 races with 8 podiums, 4 pole positions and 4 fastest laps from both #95 Lightning McQueen & #20 Jackson Storm. The driver of #95 Lightning McQueen, James Winslow also won the Driver Champion of the series.
